Questions
Hey people i got some question that bothers me for quite some time. I sort of have doubts about the NIV bible. I found something funny about it maybe i was wrong or maybe you people can correct me or give me a benefit of doubts.
First i would like to ask do we believe in the words of God? If so do we follow the bible? And what if somebody took some verse out of our bible? Should we ignore it or should we find the missing verse? I wonder is it biblical to take verse our of the bible.
Well i found out that there are some missing verses from our NIV version bible compared to King james version. For example book or Acts 8:37 is missing you people can check. That verse emphasis on us require faith in Jesus before we are allow to baptize. That are also another missing phrase from Colossians 1:14 (in whom we have redemption,[e] the forgiveness of sins.) The word Throught his blood is missing. In King James Version is like this (In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.) Another missing verse is Mark 15:28.
(Luke 9:54-56 King James Version "54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.")
(Luke 9:54-56 NIV Version "54 When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?" [comparison with Elias omitted]55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them, [Jesus' words of rebuke omitted]56 [Jesus' reason for coming to earth omitted] and they went to another village.")
Well i know it is not a big deal about the minor changes in the bible. But can anyone give me a good reason about it? It least i can feel comfortable about the NIV bible. But if there isn't any good reason, then should we be ignorant about it? Well... that sounds kind of freaky.
